Request for Qualified Subcontractors

Mecosta County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH) is actively recruiting building subcontractors in Mecosta County, Michigan for rehabilitation of single-family homes for work on our Critical Home Repairs and Home Ownership projects. MCHFH maintains a pool of qualified subcontractors who are eligible to bid on and complete rehabilitation work identified by MCHFH. We are always looking to expand our pool of qualified subcontractors. We encourage minority businesses, women’s business enterprises, Veterans businesses, and small businesses to apply.

Mecosta County Habitat for Humanity Subcontractor Requirements

In order to complete a project in Mecosta County, Michigan for MCHFH, you will need to meet the requirements listed below. You will not need to submit these documents until you are matched with a Habitat project.

• Completed W9
• Copy of license, if required for the services you provide
• Signed Contractor Terms and Conditions
• Proof of General Liability Insurance with HFHHV named as additional insured. We don’t specify certain limits of insurance but strongly encourage subcontractors to maintain limits of 1m and above.
• Proof of Worker’s Compensation Insurance. We must collect proof of workers compensation insurance for all subcontractors. The only exceptions are 1) if your business classification as certified on the W9 is Individual or Sole Proprietor AND 2) you DO NOT hire workers - or if you have a valid Notice of Exclusion (WC-337) stamped by the State of Michigan.

By completing our interest form or submitting any documents, MCHFH is not agreeing to provide the subcontractor with any work and you are not bidding on any project. MCHFH is searching for qualified subcontractors to join our list of potential subcontractors to bid on our projects. We will contact interested subcontractors about potential projects and next steps.
