NEW WEBSITE!

Barbara Seabolt, First Week On The Job-- December 2014!!

Hello, and welcome to our new and improved website! If you have been following us for a while, you already know that Mecosta County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH) has had a lot going on! In the past year or so we hired our first ever Executive Director, Barbara Seabolt (author if this particular blog!) You will be able to learn more about all of our leaders, the Mission and Vision of our affiliate and our history right here on this new website.

On this site you will find information on our wonderful Resale Store which we relocated in September of 2015, from our original location on Northland Drive in Stanwood, to a much larger facility on the north side of Big Rapids on Northland Drive, (some of you may remember it as the old Marco Chrysler Dodge building.) This move increased our store size from 4,000 sq. ft. to 11,000, and our staff has been doing a wonderful job of making this store a warm and inviting place to shop and donate items to be sold to raise funds to assist us in expanding our contribution to the community. You will find more store information on this site, links to our Facebook Page, and arrange for a donation pickup as well.

We are starting some very important programs to increase our impact in this beautiful County of Mecosta. We are working with Habitat of Michigan to offer financial coaching services with a goal of providing the support needed to assist more families in moving toward the dream of home ownership. You will find the link to get you started under the Home Ownership tab. You will also find the on-line application for our newly launched A Brush with Kindness program. This program will allow us to assist current low income homeowners with critical home repairs.

We also have centralized our volunteer registration and volunteer scheduling through the use of Volunteer Matrix, found under our Volunteer tab. Using this system, our many committed volunteers, and all of you who are new to volunteering with MCHFH, will have the opportunity to complete our volunteer registration, search our current and ongoing projects, and schedule yourself or your group all through this website!

Look at our Photo Gallery tab to view photos and newspaper articles—spanning back through our 23+ year history. Under our Events tab, you will be able to see our many upcoming events, meetings and fundraisers. Of course we have information and link to allow you to make your financial donationon-line with an option of making a recurring gift.

We are finalizing our three year strategic goals and plans in the next several months. We have designed this website to offer greater flexibility in our ability to communicate with you!  We look forward to keeping you updated on our initiatives and communicating with you all the ways we continue to expand in our ability to partner with this wonderful community.

We completed our build #30 in June of 2015 and our partner family is very happily living in their new home. We are very excited to be working with Melissa and Katherine, our latest partner family. Melissa will be sharing her Habitat Journey with all of us with her own Blog on this website. Melissa has many talents and a joyful exuberance--we are all in for a wonder ride with this family as follow along as house #31 comes to life!

To all of our fantastic dedicated community supporters, we say, thank you for your support of our affiliate over the last 23 years. To all of you new to MCHFH, we welcome you and look forward to getting to know you.

We are all excited about our future as we continue to realize our vision to “End Poverty Housing in Mecosta County.”   Thank you for checking out our new website. Please come back often--your support is ALWAYS appreciated. We are definitely all in this together!
